The Spectrum Center tries to maintain a list of University, local, and statewide resources. If you are unable to find what you are looking for on in this section, or you would like to have your organization added to our resources, please feel free to contact us.

Classifieds

The Spectrum Center now has a Classefieds page. This is a page where any student, staff, or faculty can post goods and services (tickets, furniture, apartment to sublease, etc.) that they are selling. To submit a listing, you can fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Before posting, please read through the Spectrum Center disclaimer.

New CAPS Group: Q-POC (LGBTQQ People of Color)

In this confidential, safe, and supportive environment group participants may explore issues such as inclusion/exclusion in the LGBTQQ community, navigating multiple and intersecting identities, social isolation, questioning and coming out issues, relationships with family/friends and academic issues. Facilitators of this group identify as members of this community. This is co-created space. A pre-group meeting is required.

University of Michigan Spectrum Center Ally Development Training Fees

 

What is an LGBTQ Ally?

Allies to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community are supportive resources that speak up and actively work to disrupt and end the marginalization LGBTQ people.

 

Ally Development Training Program:

In March 2005, the University of Michigan joined more than 140 other colleges and universities by implementing the LGBTQ Ally Program through the Spectrum Center. The purpose of having the LGBTQ Ally Program is to promote a community in which everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

The Spectrum Center understands that college is often the time in which students begin to explore their identities and come out to peers, friends, and family members. Whether you are just beginning your coming out process or are well into it, the Spectrum Center has ample resources and a knowledgeable staff to help you through this time.
