Continuing Virtual

The Spectrum Center will continue to be available virtually between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EDT), Monday through Friday. In addition, the Center will be open for in-person drop-ins on Mondays & Thursdays between the hours of 2:00 - 6:00 pm. In-person drop-in requests outside of the Monday/Thursday time can be requested by emailing spectrumcenter@umich.edu with a 24-hour notice. Center Staff are also hosting virtual drop-in hours for folks wanting to connect online. Sign up for a drop-in time here.

The center recognizes that these are uncertain times and appreciates your questions about how it impacts LGBTQ+ resources and events. Spectrum Center is reviewing program offerings and events in a case-by-case scenario aiming to either cancel, postpone, or shift events online during the recommended period.

The Center is committed to ensuring access to the office for students remotely. Below is a list of updates regarding Spectrum Center programs and initiatives in light of COVID-19: 

Events

All events for Fall semester will take place virtually. 

Services*

  • CenterSpace - Participate in a drop in space for different communities within queer life on campus.

  • GPS - Connect with a peer mentor or become a mentor to students navigating LGBTQ+ identities

  • MaPPS - Participate in our academic and professional mentoring program for students and staff/faculty.

  • PLSG - Join a weekly confidential drop in group for survivors who identify as lgbtq+ and find support among peers.

  • FreshSpectives - Meet fellow LGBTQ+ first-year and transfer students and build a community on campus

*All Support Services will be taking place virtually unless otherwise specified.

Education & Training 

  • Spectrum Center is currently offering online allyhood development workshops during the fall semester. These workshops can range between one to two hours and are requestable by staff, faculty and students. While operating virtually, we will not be providing out extended six hour Allyhood Development Training (ADT). You can request a workshop through our Education & Training Request Form.
