Letter from the Director

December 7, 2012  |  By Jackie Simpson

Dear Friends of the Spectrum Center,

Happy Holidays!  It is with enthusiasm and hope that our community will make even more progress in the next four years.  There is still work to do, and yet, I believe in the possibilities.

We just observed World AIDS Day with a tremendous amount of education and training.  A goal;  to create an "AIDS-free generation."  Health and Wellness is a much needed dialogue and discussion in the LGBTQ community so we are committed to raising awareness in this area.

Also, the holidays are a time that can bring a variety of emotions for all of us in this world.  For LGBTQ identified people, there can be some unique stressors.  Here is a link that might provide some guidance for those that might need it:   http://www.examiner.com/article/lgbt-holidays

On behalf of the Spectrum Center, we wish you a time filled with love and support as we enter a new year.

Be Well, Stay Hopeful and Create Peace.

Jackie
