The Second Year Navigation Cohort (SYNC) is a social and community group for LGBTQ and similarly identified second-year students. SYNC provides an opportunity for personal growth and professional development. SYNC participants will develop skills to prepare them to become leaders in student organizations, learn how to advocate for LGBTQ students and issues in their academic department, and discover ways to succeed academically and socially at Michigan. SYNC is an opportunity for second-year students to reflect on how their LGBTQ identity informs personal goals around wellness, relationship building and goal-setting for your second year.

Being a member of SYNC includes social outings around Ann Arbor, bimonthly meetings centered on specific themes, and workshops with campus resources (such as CAPS, the Career Center, Newnan Advising or Wolverine Wellness). SYNC is led by students and structured throughout the year according to the various interests and passions of the cohort.
