A top campus for LGBTQIA2S+ students

Spectrum Center opened in 1971 as the first sexuality office for students at a college or university in the United States. Today, we're a national leader through our support, education, and advocacy programs. National organizations like Campus Pride and Best Colleges recognize the U-M as a top institution for LGBT college students.

Michigan's academic excellence—together with a vibrant, active student community, key policies and protections, and an array of Spectrum Center events, co-curricular opportunities, and supports—prepares leaders and best to make meaningful change in the world.
