On May 1, our office celebrated the Grand Opening of the David Bohnett CyberCenter with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony. Speakers included: Director, Jackie Simpson; Vice President for Student Life, Royster Harper; Video Team Lead, Evan Hoye; Founder of the David Bohnett Foundation, David Bohnett; and Alumni Relations Coordinator, Allie Harte.

This Grand Opening marked the opening of the 61st David Bohnett CyberCenter. There are centers all over the country, and you can learn more about them and the David Bohnett Foundation as a whole here.

More than 50 students, staff, faculty, and community members came to the Spectrum Center to celebrate and see our new space. With the CyberCenter, we have 6 new computers and software for student use and new lounge furniture. Our space looks very different with these additions, along with new carpet and paint. As Vice President Royster Harper said in her speech during the Grand Opening, it's not the new computers or carpet that we were celebrating, but rather, a space for students. Though our office has changed, it's not the physical changes that are important--it's the way that we engage students. The CyberCenter opened three weeks ago, and students and community members are already coming into the Center to make use of the new space and work collaboratively.

We're very grateful to the David Bohnett Foundation for the new space!
