Located on the third floor of the historic Michigan Union, Spectrum Center is a lively drop-in space for U-M's LGBTQIA2S+ communities and allies. Windows along two external walls welcome ample natural light and provide enjoyable views of South State and South University. We've filled our space with color, student art, seating and work areas, books and activities, and more. We're also home to a David Bohnett Foundation Cybercenter, which provides state of the art computing to the LGBT community.

What do I do at Spectrum Center?

We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome in our space. A friendly staff member at the front desk available can orient you to the space and answer any questions you might have.

Here are just a few of the things you might do while you visit us:

  • Use a computer at our David Bohnett Foundation Cybercenter
  • Reserve space for a student org meeting
  • Get a short tour of the office
  • Request assistance in finding resources
  • Talk to a professional staff member
  • Pick up free stickers, pronoun pins, safer sex supplies, and other giveaways
  • Read a book or play a board game from our library
  • Use our lounge area to study, meet with friends, eat lunch, or just hang out

We also have some rooms that may be used for meetings and Zoom calls, but they are subject to availability. Ask the front desk to see what rooms are open when you visit.
