Our education team facilitates workshops for students, faculty, and staff, focused on best practices, using affirming language, and developing skills to interrupt homophobia and transphobia.

Offerings
Workshop and consultations are free to UM-affiliated units, departments, and student organizations, and individual participation is optional.
Pronouns 101
Learning outcomes
Through this workshop, participants will:
- Learn what pronouns are and be able to share why they are important in their own words;
- Identify the correct pronouns in various sentence structures;
- Practice different methods of addressing harm using a tool called scripting (coined by author Ritu Bhasin);
- Use an action planning resource to develop one tangible, actionable goal related to their increased inclusivity around pronouns.

- Prerequisite: Participants are expected to complete our Introduction to LGBTQIA2S+ Communities and Identities web course before attending this workshop.

- Program duration: 2 hours. Workshop durations are fixed and we're unable to accommodate requests to shorten them.
- Lead time: Request and finalize your workshop reservation at least a 2 weeks in advance of your intended workshop date.
- Optional participation: Workshops are opt-in for all participants, and requestors are responsible for ensuring that participation is presented as optional within their group.
Audience and costs
Our workshops and consultations are geared towards students, faculty, and staff at the U-M campus communities. We have a limited capacity for groups of external educators. We are unable to accommodate requests from businesses and nonprofits.

- Pronouns 101: $600.00
- Towards Solidarity: Allyhood in Action: $1,800.00
- Mileage: We ask that facilitators are reimbursed for their mileage if held in-person.
