Announcing the 2024 LGBT History Month events lineup

Queer history is our history

September 19, 2024  |  By Nick Pfost

Spectrum Center, student organizations, and units across campus have announced an exciting slate of events and programming at U-M for October, LGBT History Month. LGBT History Month is an annual observance of the histories, cultures, and contributions of LGBTQIA2S+ communities.

Over a dozen sponsoring units and groups will be hosting student voices and community experts, a sports and gender journalist, a curious podcaster, and other opportunities around aspects of LGBT life, history, and culture. Events include a QT Trivia Night kickoff, a compassionate competition with Latrice Royale and local performers, a VR museum, live recording of Jonathan Van Ness' "Getting Curious," a keynote by Katie Barnes (author of Fair Play: How Sports Shape the Gender Debates), and more.

We hope you'll join us for these special opportunities happening at the University of Michigan this October. Please visit our LGBT History Month portal for an up-to-date listing of these events and links to their full details and registrations (where required). You can stay up to date on Spectrum Center events by joining our mailing list and following us on Instagram, Facebook, and X
