This November, Spectrum Center and campus partners invite the U-M community to commemorate Transgender Awareness Month through a vibrant calendar of programs honoring and celebrating transgender and nonbinary people and communities. This annual observance provides an opportunity for learning, connection, and affirmation.
Transgender Awareness Month serves a vital role in fostering understanding, celebrating resilience, and building a more inclusive campus community. By centering trans and nonbinary voices and experiences, we work together to challenge misconceptions, honor diverse identities, and ensure that every member of our community feels seen, valued, and supported.
Throughout the month, we’re spotlighting voices from students, working professionals, artists, and scholars. Highlights include our Trans Awareness Month kickoff with musical artist and performer Cuee, Queer Art Showcase at the Stamps Gallery, Gender Affirming Clothing Closet, and Transgender Day of Remembrance.
We hope you’ll join us for these meaningful experiences this November at the University of Michigan. Events are open to U-M community members of all sexualities and genders. For the complete event calendar with registration information and full descriptions, check out our dedicated Transgender Awareness Month portal.
