Spectrum Center is thrilled to share an exciting lineup April programming at the University of Michigan in honor and celebration of U-M Pride Month.
Pride Month is a time dedicated to celebrating and commemorating lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, queer, asexual, intersex, and two-spirit people and communities. You might be more familiar with June Pride celebrations, but at U-M we celebrate Pride in April, when most students are on campus and able to join in.
Throughout the month, campus groups and units will host acclaimed writers, tireless advocates, local legal experts, a big circus-themed party, and community gatherings, creating spaces to connect, reflect, and celebrate. Pride Month kicks off with a Pop-Up Pride Station on the Michigan Union’s first floor, a name change clinic, and the Take Back the Night Rally and March.
Pride Prom and Lavender Graduation return as Pride Month staples and beloved university traditions. Spectrum Center is also proud to partner with the Hopwood Awards Program, Zell Writers' Program, and English Language & Literature to welcome Roxane Gay for a reading and Q&A.
We hope you will join us for these special events happening at the University of Michigan this April. Please visit our U-M Pride Month portal for an up-to-date listing of these events and links to their full details and registrations (where required). Stay up to date on Spectrum Center events by joining our mailing list and following us on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
