Spectrum Center Welcome Letter (Winter 2016)

January 20, 2016

Hello Friends of the Spectrum Center!

It is January, and a new year, and a new semester has begun. We are so excited to share with you the amazing things happening in our office! This past month, we held a Student Team Event Planning (STEP) onboarding and orientation for our volunteers, hosted a bonding retreat for students involved with FreshSpectives, and were present at the National Conference on LGBTQ Equality: Creating Change. The conference is organized by the National LGBTQ Taskforce, and is the largest annual gathering of activists, organizers, and leaders in the LGBTQ Movement.

Coming up in the next month, and throughout the semester, you will see us hosting Drop-In Discussions on a variety of topics intended for the lgbtqia+, questioning, and similarly identified individuals on our campus as well as in the Ann Arbor community. Our Education and Training Staff will facilitate Allyhood Development Trainings on February 21 and March 13. We will also be in the midst of planning events for Health Awareness Week in March.

Thank you for supporting our work and we look forward to seeing you at some of our upcoming events!
